Happy FALL!!!! We pulled out scarves and light sweaters today for our first 70 degree day!!!! The store is chalk full of beautiful wonders from around the world. Boiled wool sweaters, mis -matched prints, detailed shirts, funky skirts, hand knitted scarves ( from Austin), new vintage bracelets from a local lady, plus leggings, dresses, hats, jewelry.....and AMAZING boots and shoes!!! We're talking Portugal, Barcelona, France, The Netherlands, Texas, New York, Florida, Brazil...just to name of few of the places you'll find our hand selected items from.

Summer, Summer, Summer

Who's ready for Summer???? I think we all are!!! Hopefully everyone will get to take a break in the next few months and go somewhere fun.

Come to Fredericksburg. There are great restaurants, great places to stay and of course great shopping.

We've just received a great cotton line called Tulip and it's a great mix and match line. Everything from easy and interesting jackets, tanks, dresses, and super cool pants. Prices $62-$98.

Also, we have a nice selection of silk and cotton summer tops. Nice and light weight, but still pretty and colorful for the summer.

Can you believe it's already May??? The year is halfway over already!!!

It has been busy, busy in Fredericksburg this year. There are lots of people coming to visit our fabulous little town instead of flying to far off places, or driving to far off places for that matter.

We are still getting new items nearly everyday. We have some beautiful cocktail/ wedding style dresses right now perfect for those June weddings. Plus, some very cute inexpensive cotton tops for the hot summer.

I am so excited about this new jewelry line that I bought yesterday. The designer is from Washington and started this line using antique buttons after her mother passed away and she inherited her mom's button box. She fondly remembers playing with all of those beautiful buttons and wanted to enjoy them in a way that would enhance the beauty of each button, and allow her to enjoy them daily. This is her vision of how to love all of the beautiful buttons that are floating around our world. She has created bracelets, necklances, earrings, and rings. Each piece features a 100-180 year old button. I had so much fun looking through her collection and picking my favorite buttons. Stop by the store to see all of them in person and pick the antique button that speaks to you.

To market, to market...

I'm off to Vegas this week for market. I love market. So many fun things, so much people watching, so many ugly things to curl your lip at... Love it!
Tonight I ran up to the store to see new items hoping to be inspired for some new market outfits. It worked. I've been eyeballing several pieces for a while now, and if there were still in the store. tonight..then they are mine! I've put together four market outfits with some brand new Fall pieces we've just received, some pieces from years past, and some pieces that have been...well...hanging around the store. Let me know what you think!!! (if you'd like to read my original post that I wrote at 10:00 pm, instead of the short and abbreviated version I'm writing now at 12:52, then please scroll all the way to the bottom of my blog. You'd think when you publish something new on a site that it would be somewhere near the top. Well, not so the case with this. I'm a dork.) Good night!

Outfit #1

Love this!! Fabulous little silk print dress with shirred waist. I paired it with a Hazel structured jacket from a few years ago and black Art pants that have been in the store for...ummm...a bit. They fit great, are Jodhpur styled in the hips, and are long in the crotch. They are super cute in the legs, which is why I'm layering them with the dress over. I'm not sure I'd wear them without something long over, but they are a fun layering piece. I added a red belt and these amazing, terribly Fabulous French shoes I bought last summer. The shoes for market will not last...i'll put them on for dinner:)

Outfit #2

I've loved this top since it first come in to the store. It is cotton, shirred waist, lace insets and a ruffled front. I love the femine, flirtiness of it, and you can't ever go wrong with white. The pants are ART from The Netherlands and they have been in the store since the beginning of the summer. Has no one tried these on??? I think they are soooo cool. Look at all of that detailing! The color is neat too, kind of taupey neutral. Jodhpur styling through the hips, great pockets and button detailing at hem. I added a great leather contoured belt with a big buckle and Fabulous Brown boots. We still have all of these pieces in the store, we'll just have to check sizing for you.

Outfit #3

Jane Mohr designs the neatest skirts. This is a fabulous black skirt from her with tiny little flecks of color. It has pockets in the front and great detailing. Earlier in the summer we received these fabulous linen almost sheer Tee shirts with organza trim. I have worn it ALL summer! I love the sleeve on this and the pretty neckline. We just received the black layer vest from Mystree and I thought it was a fun addition to the outfit. And of course a belt...i love belts. I may end of wearing my black cowboy boots with this for comfort walking all over Vegas, but the flip flops work too.

Outfit #4

I'll probably travel home in this on Thursday. I've been waiting to try on this Hazel navy knit jacket with a hood since I spotted it over a week ago. There are a few left!! I've had the ART skirt for several seasons and it is one of my all time favorites. The navy jacket is the perfect color match with the embroidery of the skirt. I add a natural lace top from...ahum....a big chain store A__th___po___gie. Yes, I know, occasionally I'll shop in other stores. ;) Sassy, sorta casual, comfy, won't set the metal detectors off! Perfect!

May Flowers bring...daydreams.

Sigh. I love everything that we received yesterday. It is all interesting, textural, drapey, sophisticated, and beautiful. Ronen Chen is still my favorite, and then ART next. It's all so dreamy. It makes me want to pack a bag, travel off to some fabulous city and visit every museum in the area...Chicago, New York, Paris, Prague, yes I think Prague with it's cobble stone streets, red roof tops, and art vendors on the Charles bridge. Wouldn't we feel very European wearing these new garments? I would.

Blue Bonnet Days and Spring Fashion, April 23rd

Well, i'm finally getting caught up today! New items in the store and new pictures on the blog. We've received lots of new in-expensive tops this week...like $32-$48 really cute Ts. Plus we have jewelry coming this week to re-fill the cases and a fabulous little cotton line that is so affordable. We are selling these new boots like crazy with the grey the newest color in the Koala style. They are so comfy...I actually wore it ALL day at the store and my feet were ok!!! That is a good test! The sale rack is widdling down, but i'm adding new sales items to it often. We have to make room for the all the new items arriving daily.
